For studies of less than 90 days, all you need to do is be able to enter Spain as a tourist. For studies longer than that, you will need to apply for a student visa.
The Spanish government requires to all non-EU citizens studying in Spain for more than 90 days to apply for a Student visa.
No, you can study in Spain for a maximum of 90 days with a valid passport. People of nationalities included in this ANEXO I (page 13) need a Schengen Visa for studies shorter than 90 days.
The Schengen Visa is a type of visa issued by any country of the Schengen area. This visa allows you to stay in Spain and travel around the Schengen area for up to 90 days. This is the type of Visa for short studies, trips, or business.
You can apply as far in advance as you want but you must submit your application at least 2 months in advance before your program’s start date.
It usually takes between 1 and 2 months from the moment the application is submitted at the Consulate of Spain. However, the time can vary depending on the country.
When applying from within Spain, it usually takes between a couple to several months depending on the city where one applies.
The total cost is very important when deciding to study in Spain. The cost of living is different depending on the city. For large cities, the accommodation price is between 550 and 700 euros per month. For small and medium size cities the cost is between 450 to 550 euros. Other expenses, including groceries, utilities, entertainment, and healthcare can cost around 600€ per month. There is a difference between the dialects and vocabulary of Spanish spoken in Spain versus Latin America. The Foreign Services Institute (United States government’s primary training institution) estimates that it takes 600 classroom hours and 600 hours studying independently to achieve conversational fluency in Spanish.
According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) there are 6 levels; A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. The level A1 is the lowest and the level C2 is the highest. When reaching C2 students are supposed to have mastered the language.
DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) are diplomas issued by the Instituto Cervantes that certify your Spanish level. In order to obtain this diploma you have you pass the official DELE exam of the Spanish level you would like to certify (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, or C2). We offer preparation courses for this exam. Yes! You can combine several destinations. For example, you can study 4 weeks in Madrid and 4 weeks in Barcelona. You can also combine more cities.
Intensive courses usually start every Monday of the year. All courses start on a Monday and end on a Friday. You can study as many weeks as you wish. Courses are held all year round.
We recommend EU students booking the course 3 to 6 months in advance (since no visa is required) and to those enrolling in short courses (shorter than 90 days) .
We recommend Non-EU students booking the course 6 to 9 months in advance (since a visa is required) when enrolling in courses longer than 90 days.

Yes! You can book a Spanish language course with us as an absolute beginner.
The most important is to know if you have studied Spanish before. If you select beginner, you will be placed in a group with absolute beginners. If you select anything else, you will take a level test online or on your first day of school. This way the school will be able to place you in the right group. You can also check your level with our Spanish level online test!
You can freely choose the length of your course. It’s possible to book a course starting from one week up to one year. If the course length you are interested in isn’t indicated on our website, please contact us and we’ll provide you the exact price.
If at the end of your first day of school you find your course very easy or too difficult please explain to your teacher and contact us. The school will review the situation and they will place you in a class more suited to your skills if possible.
The most popular course is the general intensive course. In this course you will have around 4 hours of Spanish lessons per day.
The average number of students per class is 7.

Yes, you will receive a certificate at the end of your course showing the number of hours you have studied at the school, the course you have taken and the level you have achieved. You will need an attendance of more than 80% in order to get this certificate.
Between 9 and 12 months in advance. Each university has different application periods, however we recommend to start checking on the application period 1 year in advance.
No, plenty of universities in Spain offers degrees in English, in that case Spanish is usually not required. In case the degree of your choice is taught in Spanish the university will ask for a proof of your Spanish level or they will ask you to take a test. The Spanish level required is usually B2.
You have to officially recognize your academic qualifications in Spain. In order to officially recognize your secondary education, you must submit the relevant documentation to the Ministry of Education of Spain. This procedure is called homologation (homologación in Spanish) and it can be done online.
In case the degree is taught in Spanish, you will also need proof of your Spanish level or to pass a Spanish exam or interview organized by the university.
You must have an undergraduate degree and, in case the Master’s is taught in Spanish, a proof of your Spanish level or pass a Spanish exam or interview organized by the university.
Undergraduates Degree degrees in Spain are usually 3 or 4 years long.
Masters in Spain takes from 8 months to 2 years when studying full time.
The cost is different depending on the region and if one is a EU citizen.
A bachelor’s degree at a public university can have a cost of 700 € to 2500 € annually for EU students and a cost between 3,000 € and 8,000 for non EU students.
Private universities do not differentiate and the annual cost for a bachelor’s degree is between 6,000 € to 25,000 €.
The annual cost of a Master’s in Spain can be from 6,800€ up to 30,000 €, depending on the university and degree.
