Why take a Malaga University Spanish Course

Did you know that Malaga University houses the prestigious International Centre for Spanish? Well, you do now!

In fact, the International Centre for Spanish, or Centro Internacional de Español, has been running for over 70 years. With that length of service, it’s safe to say they know their stuff.

All of the teachers at the International Centre for Spanish are selected from the General Foundation of the University of Malaga, so you’re assured to get the highest quality teaching there is.

Malaga University Spanish Courses are accredited by the Cervantes Institute, a national organization that ensures the quality of your course and teaching, which means your final grade or certificate is ratified.

What’s more, the courses follow the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) so you can add to your points on your journey through your studies in Spain or elsewhere in Europe if you choose to move on.

But what types of courses are on offer at the International Center for Spanish at the University of Malaga? Let’s take a close look:

What options do Malaga University Spanish Courses have?

The International Centre for Spanish at the University of Malaga offers a range of courses to help you learn Spanish.

From online, and face-to-face, to tailor-made courses, you’ve got a range of options to suit your schedule or needs.

But as you’d want to spend your time in Malaga itself, to take in the history and culture, we’ll consider the face-to-face courses in detail:

You can take their face-to-face courses to suit your schedule. And the University’s courses run all year round, so you can book a date to work for you.

The intensive Spanish language courses run on a monthly basis, and the courses run throughout the summer months, in case you only have your summer holiday spare.

If you want a language course that will certify your competency and mastery of Spanish, the University of Malaga offer the DELE, SIELE, and CCSE preparation courses.

You can take the exam at the end of the course so you prove to future employers that you have the paperwork to say how great you are at Spanish!

Face-to-face Malaga University Spanish Courses

Students can take a short one-month Spanish program, or a program lasting several months, or a year-long program depending on what they’d like to achieve.

Monthly Intensive Spanish Courses

1 Month = 740 €

This Spanish language course takes as little as a month but the course will be intensive.

The intensive courses run from 9 am to 1 pm, Monday to Friday, with 4 hours a day of learning time.

To make sure your language learning is profitable, the classes are kept small – generally between 8 to 10 students.

You’ll be asked to complete written tasks, as well as conversation activities, and comprehension. All of which you can practice during role-play sessions.

University of Malaga Spanish Courses for Summer Study

If you only have your summer break free to take a Spanish course, don’t worry.

There will be Malaga University Spanish courses running when you need them to make your summer break in Spain the best you’ve ever had.

The Course duration can run to suit you. That means you can study from one month to four months depending on how much time you can spare.

Longer Spanish Courses at the University of Malaga

If you’d like to study over a longer period, the International Centre for Spanish at the University of Malaga can certainly accommodate you.

They offer a program of study lasting for several months up to a year.

Semester Courses = from 2220 €

Semester Courses are available for those who wish to deepen their understanding of the Spanish language and culture.

This course is less intensive, taking place over 20 lessons per week.

What Are the Levels of Spanish Can I Take at The University of Malaga?

The levels of Spanish you can take at the University of Malaga correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

As with everything, how quickly you progress will largely depend on your abilities. But the University of Malaga can roughly estimate that students could progress through these levels depending on the duration of their studies.

Your competency timeline is expected to be as follows:

What Else Can I Expect from Malaga University Spanish Courses?

Apart from a great deal of fun and a fantastic learning experience, you can expect loads of extras.

At the end of your course, your exam or competency check will be ratified by the prestigious Cervantes Institute and you will get ECTS credits towards your ongoing studies.

You’ll get a certificate at the end of your studies from the University provided you have attended at least 80% of your classes and passed the final level test.

The University will also integrate you into the Virtual Campus of the University of Malaga. So you can learn about all of the students’ events and information open to you during your stay.

In addition to this, you’ll get a UMA student card, a textbook, access to interactive content and extra materials and activities to really make the most of your studies.

They also offer a range of extra-curricular activities so you can really get to feel a sense of Spain and her culture while you are in the country.
