6. LCI Barcelona School of Design (LCI)

Large network of schools and state of the art facilities

LCI Barcelona School of Design (LCI) is part of a network of 23 LCI campuses around the world. Other LCI locations include Vancouver, Melbourne, Istanbul, and Montreal. LCI Education began way back in 1959 and students in Spain benefit greatly from its considerable experience and vast network.

The University of Barcelona was established back in 1450, making it one of Spain’s oldest universities. It is the most famous of the universities of Barcelona. It is also one of Spain’s largest universities and the biggest of the Barcelona universities with around 63,000 students and 6,000 members of staff and 106 departments.

There is an enormous variety of courses to choose from at the University of Barcelona and all academic programmes are of the highest quality. The University of Barcelona is the only university in Spain to make it into the top 200 of globally ranked universities. It is also ranked as the most innovative university in Spain by Reuters.


10. Universidad Autónoma de Madrid

The second-highest ranked of the Best Universities in Spain

Universidad Autónoma de Madrid is another of Spain’s highest ranking universities and the final in our list of universities of Madrid. In the 2021 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings it was rated as the second best university in Spain, just behind the University of Barcelona.

Founded in 1968, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid is a much younger university than the University of Barcelona. When compared to other ‘young’ universities, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid is consistently the highest ranked in Spain and one of the highest ranked in Europe.

Universidad Autónoma de Madrid is located just outside of Madrid in rural surroundings but with a quick and easy connection to Madrid’s city centre by car, bus or train. It offers a huge variety of first rate courses to around 30,000 students at its expansive campus and is admired as one of the best universities in the world.
