Granada University Spanish Courses – What Are My Choices?

 
Granada University Spanish courses are taught at their prestigious Modern Languages Centre. In Spanish, it’s called the Centro de Lenguas Modernas (CLM).
 
The centre welcomes 8,000 international and local students every year and they learn Spanish or other languages.
 
You can learn Spanish at Granada University face-to-face or take a course online.
 
They offer teacher training, too, and teachers who want to improve their mastery of the Spanish Language enjoy coming to UGR.

Granada University Spanish Courses – Face-to-Face Learning

 

Spanish Courses UGR

1. Intensive Spanish Language Courses

 
This intensive Spanish course at Granada University is very popular with international students.
 
Why? Because it helps students pick up the language quickly.
 
You can take this course if you’re a beginner or more advanced as it covers the CEFR levels A1 to C2.
 
The course length is 4 hours a day, in the morning, over a 20-week duration.
 
The class sizes are no more than 15 students at a time. This way you know you’re going to get plenty of attention and support from your teacher and classmates.

 

2. Spanish as a Foreign Language Course

 
If you want a more relaxed program of study, Spanish as a foreign language will be the best fit.
 
It is a part-time course which runs twice a week for 3 hours each day. You can choose a short course of 60 hours of total lesson time or a longer 120-hour course.
 
And whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, you’ll find a level of Spanish to suit you. All students with CEFR levels, A1 – C2 can take part.
 
Class sizes are not specified but you do get 6 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits. These credits get awarded by the University of Granada on completion of the course.

 

3. Spanish Language And Culture Course

 
Are you an intermediate-level Spanish student? If so, you could consider taking the Spanish Language and Culture course at the University of Granada.
 
This is a comprehensive course which covers the different aspects of the Spanish language and culture.
 
There are options for the length of time you study. Either a duration of 225 hours of study or 450 hours of study for a more in-depth understanding.
 
This course is not only flexible but you can learn in English or Spanish. Students with CEFR levels A1 – B2 .1 are a good fit.

 

4. Hispanic Studies Course

 
Are you an advanced speaker of Spanish and already at university or a professional?
 
If so, this course at Granada University is your match.
 
This course is one of the most comprehensive Hispanic courses available. It covers the Hispanic culture in both Spain and Latin America.
 
Your choices for the length of study you’ll undertake are either 225 hours or 450 hours, twice a week.
 
If your CEFR level is B2.2 – C2 you won’t struggle to understand the teacher or the content.

 

5. Intensive Spanish Language and Culture Summer Courses

 
You can study Spanish at Granada University over the summer. UGR offers a range of summer courses at the Modern Languages Centre.
 
If you only want to improve your ability to have a conversation in Spanish, you can take a 10-hour course.
 
But you may want to improve your fluency or deepen your understanding of Spanish culture.
 
In this case, you’ll want to take either the 22.5-hour or 45-hour courses.
 
These courses are great for people with only a limited time for study.

The Centro de Lenguas Modernas offer a range of online Spanish courses.
 
So your learning can fit around your geographical location or your other commitments.
 
They have two online courses to choose from:

 

1. Non-Intensive Spanish Course at Granada University

 
This is a part-time learning course. Who is it best for? People who want to improve their language fluency for educational, professional or leisure needs.
 
The course is 60 hours in duration with 3 hours a week of directed study time.
 
And beginners to advanced students are welcome. And you’ll get 6 ECTS credits upon completion of the course.

 

2. Intensive Spanish Course at Granada University

 
This course offers a focused learning experience. The work expects students to work independently and in groups.
 
The course includes 60 hours of learning time with a schedule of 3 hours of learning a day to suit your time zone.
 
And whatever levels you’re at, this course suits all Spanish language abilities. You’ll also get 6 ECTS credits on completion of the course.
