Yes, Spain has wonderful sights, culture, and food &#8211; but the <strong>nightlife in Spain<\/strong> is also something that brings many visitors to its sunny shores. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s time to polish off your dancing shoes and get prepared for a long night. Spain stays up well into the wee hours, even on a quiet night out. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Start with a pre-dinner drink and snack <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Spanish have acquired a habit for the \u201cafterwork\u201d in major cities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meet up with a couple of friends for a tapa or snack with a drink after work, and get ready for a long night out. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remember, dinner in Spain doesn\u2019t start until around 9 p.m., so plan your pre-dinner drink accordingly! <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Now, it\u2019s time for tapas<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the highlights of going out in the <strong>evening in Spain<\/strong> is heading out with a group of friends for tapas. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Round up a few friends for a meal out &#8211; tapas are a meal best shared. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can either have them all at one place, but it can be more fun to bounce from bar to bar sampling <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/en\/blog\/what-is-tapas-food\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the very best tapas<\/a><\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re in a city like Granada, your tapas will come free with every drink you order! If you\u2019re in a bigger city, this might not be as common. Luckily, lots of smaller places around Spain do still do the tapas plus drink tradition. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, you can also go out for a conventional meal if you prefer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are also plenty of excellent <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/en\/blog\/best-spanish-food\/\">Spanish foods<\/a><\/strong> that aren\u2019t eaten tapas-style. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whatever you choose, you certainly won\u2019t go hungry in a country with as much good food as Spain. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consider ordering a coffee after dinner in Spain if you\u2019re planning on being out for the entire night. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Nightlife in Spain<\/strong> often means being out on the town until the sun comes up! Anyone up for a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cortado<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1494 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/nightlife-in-spain-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"nightlife-in-spain\" width=\"798\" height=\"599\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><b>What about a drink or two after dinner? <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, once you\u2019ve done all that eating, you\u2019ll want something to wash it down with. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Luckily, you\u2019ll be able to find plenty of places to have a drink. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Did you know that <strong>Spain is the country with the most bars per person in the entire EU<\/strong>? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You might have beer or wine, or you might find that your friends are ready to move on to cocktails. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What time should you expect the bar hopping to start? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any earlier than 11 p.m. on a weekend would be quite early. Bars tend to really get busy around midnight! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This might be the time that you usually head home in your country. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Ready for the <em>discoteca<\/em>? <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Speaking of things starting later than you might expect in your hometown, clubs usually don\u2019t start getting busy in Spain until well after 2 a.m. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can sometimes get discounts for going in earlier, as club promoters try to fill up the venues early on the evening (by Spain standards). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clubs open until the next morning, with some closing at 5 or 6 a.m., and occasionally even later. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If that isn\u2019t late enough for you, you can also find after-hours clubs that stay open well into the following day. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check dress codes for clubs before you go out. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some cities are more relaxed than others, and each club may have its own rules. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">White sneakers and tennis shoes are usually on the list of \u201cdon\u2019ts\u201d if the club has a dress code, as its sportswear. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But, you can also find lots of clubs that don\u2019t have a dress code. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do a quick online search before you go just to be safe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1493 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/nightlife-in-spain-discoteca-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"nightlife-in-spain-discoteca\" width=\"798\" height=\"532\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><b>Churros at sunrise<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OK, once you\u2019ve finally had enough of all that partying, you\u2019ll probably be hungry on your way home. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why not stop for the much-beloved Spanish snack of a churro and cup of hot chocolate? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s no <strong>better way to finish off the night<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You might even get to see the sunrise at you enjoy your snack! <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thinking about planning a trip to Spain?
