We will see how to ask someone where they are from, how to state where you are from and your nationality and some useful vocabulary related to <strong>countries and nationalities in Spanish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4>Firstly, let\u2019s look at how to ask someone where you are from in Spanish:<\/h4>\n<p>\u00bfDe d\u00f3nde eres?: Where are you from?<br \/>\n\u00bfCual es tu nacionalidad?: What is your nationality?<\/p>\n<h4>To respond to this question you can use a word that we saw in the previous lesson:<\/h4>\n<p>Soy&#8230;: I am&#8230;<\/p>\n<h4>This would be used to describe your nationality, for example:<\/h4>\n<p>(You will see that some nationalities have two options. The first option is for a man and the second option is for a woman)<\/p>\n<p>Soy ingles\/inglesa: I am English<br \/>\nSoy espa\u00f1ol\/espa\u00f1ola: I am Spanish<br \/>\nSoy japon\u00e9s\/japonesa: I am Japanese<br \/>\nSoy estadounidense: I am US American<br \/>\nSoy australiano\/australiana: I am Australian<br \/>\nSoy chino\/china: I am Chinese<br \/>\nSoy indio\/india: I am Indian<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-25509 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Discussing-where-you-are-from-in-Spanish.jpg\" alt=\"Countries and Nationalities in Spanish\" width=\"1000\" height=\"636\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Rather than stating your nationality you may want to say from which country you are from. To do this you can use:<\/h4>\n<p>Soy de&#8230;: I am from&#8230;<\/p>\n<h4>Here are some examples:<\/h4>\n<p>Soy de Inglaterra: I am from England<br \/>\nSoy de Espa\u00f1a: I am from Spain<br \/>\nSoy de Jap\u00f3n: I am from Japan<br \/>\nSoy de Los Estados Unidos: I am from the US<br \/>\nSoy de Australia: I am from Australia<br \/>\nSoy de China: I am from China<br \/>\nSoy de India: I am from India<\/p>\n<p>You will notice that we use capital letters for countries in Spanish, but we don\u2019t use capital letters for nationalities in Spanish.<\/p>\n<h4>If you wanted to find out more detail about where someone is from you can ask:<\/h4>\n<p>\u00bfDe qu\u00e9 parte (de Inglaterra)?: From what part (of England)?<\/p>\n<p>And they might answer:<\/p>\n<p>Soy de Manchester: I am from Manchester<\/p>\n<p>That is all for this lesson about <strong>Countries and Nationalities in Spanish<\/strong>.
