{"id":53389,"date":"2020-11-28T10:00:53","date_gmt":"2020-11-28T09:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/?p=53389"},"modified":"2024-07-23T03:29:52","modified_gmt":"2024-07-23T02:29:52","slug":"commonly-used-irregular-spanish-verbs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/en\/blog\/commonly-used-irregular-spanish-verbs\/","title":{"rendered":"Commonly used Irregular Spanish Verbs: Spanish Lesson 36"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the thirty-sixth lesson in our beginner level Spanish course and we will look at <strong>Commonly used Irregular Spanish Verbs<\/strong> in Present Tense.<\/p>\n<p>In lesson 33 of this course we learned various <a href=\"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/en\/blog\/irregular-spanish-verbs-in-present-tense\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Irregular Spanish Verbs in Present Tense<\/a> such as Comenzar\/Empezar: To start, Perder: To lose, Costar: To cost, Recordar: To remember, Pedir: To ask for\/To order, Servir: To serve, and Construir: To build.<\/p>\n<p>We learned that Irregular verbs do not follow the same patterns as <a href=\"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/en\/blog\/spanish-present-tense-with-regular-verbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regular verbs<\/a> and we have to remember each specific conjugation.<\/p>\n<p>In this lesson we will learn some <strong>Commonly used Irregular Spanish Verbs <\/strong>which are also very easy ones to remember!<\/p>\n<p>The Irregular verbs we learned in lesson 33 were trickier to conjugate than the ones we will learn here as their verb endings were different for all persons except Nosotros\/as and Vosotros\/as.<\/p>\n<p>Our new <strong>Commonly used Irregular Spanish Verbs <\/strong>are only irregular in the first person (Yo). For the rest of the persons (T\u00fa, \u00c9l, Ella, Nosotros\/as, Vosotros\/as, Ellos\/as) all of the conjugations are regular.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-31868 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/gogoespana.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Commonly-used-Irregular-Spanish-Verbs-traducir.png\" alt=\"Commonly used Irregular Spanish Verbs traducir\" width=\"559\" height=\"341\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Commonly used Irregular Spanish verbs that are regular except for the first person:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Traducir: To translate<br \/>\n(Yo) Traduzco: I translate<\/p>\n<p>Conocer: To know (people or places)<br \/>\n(Yo) Conozco: I know<\/p>\n<p>Saber: To know (information)<br \/>\n(Yo) S\u00e9: I know<\/p>\n<p>Dar: To give<br \/>\n(Yo) Doy: I give<\/p>\n<p>Salir: To go out<br \/>\n(Yo) Salgo: I go out<\/p>\n<p>Hacer: To do\/To make<br \/>\n(Yo) Hago: I do<\/p>\n<p>Poner: To put<br \/>\n(Yo) Pongo: I put<\/p>\n<p>Ver: To see<br \/>\n(Yo) Veo: I see<\/p>\n<p>Caer: To fall<br \/>\n(Yo)\u00a0 Caigo: I fall<\/p>\n<p>Caber: To fit<br \/>\n(Yo) Quepo: I fit<\/p>\n<p>Traer: To bring<br \/>\n(Yo) Traigo: I bring<\/p>\n<p>Lots of really useful Spanish verbs! And, although they are <em>Irregular<\/em>, they are actually very easy to remember and use because you only need to remember the different first person (Yo) conjugation.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Regular conjugations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To conjugate these verbs for the rest of the persons (T\u00fa, \u00c9l, Ella, Nosotros\/as, Vosotros\/as, Ellos\/as) we need to know the patterns to conjugate regular verbs which we saw back in lesson 20.
